Changlan Supports a World-First ±500kV Offshore Wind Transmission Project

A major milestone has been reached at the Yangjiang Qingzhou V & VII Offshore Wind Project.
The complete cable accessory package supplied by Changlan Technology has successfully passed all on-site acceptance tests, with the ±500kV DC and 500kV AC systems now meeting the requirements for energization.
The project features the world’s first offshore converter station applying ±500kV flexible DC transmission technology, designed to support large-scale, long-distance transmission of offshore wind power.
Changlan’s supply scope includes:
▪ ±500kV DC submarine cable terminations
▪ 500kV GIS and transformer terminations
▪ 66kV separable connectors and screened surge arresters
▪ AC/DC earthing and protection boxes
▪ 500kV AC/DC cable cleats and related accessories
For deep-sea offshore wind projects, cable accessories must withstand demanding requirements for electrical performance, sealing reliability and long-term operational stability.
The successful completion of these tests further demonstrates Changlan’s engineering capability in EHV AC/DC cable accessory systems and marks another important step in supporting next-generation offshore wind transmission.
